Working to eliminate domestic violence since 1979

HOPE provides free and confidential services to survivors of domestic violence and their families. In addition to the comprehensive array of intervention services, HOPE also provides primary prevention activities as well as  awareness and education events in the communities of the Alle-Kiski Valley in southwestern Pennsylvania.

Incorporated in 1979, and recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. HOPE touches the lives of nearly 20,000 individuals each year – over 4,000 of them – direct victims of domestic violence.

What does HOPE offer

Emergency Shelter

Our confidential and secure shelter provides a 30-day safe place to female victims and their children who are experiencing domestic violence or to those experiencing homelessness.

Legal Advocacy

Our Legal Advocates provide assistance in both the civil and criminal court systems. Advocating on behalf of domestic violence victims and their children, legal advocates ensure that a victim’s safety and rights are protected within the court systems.

Prevention Services

Our advocates offer a variety of FREE violence prevention programs to local school districts, preschools, child cares, learning centers, civic groups or other interested community groups.
